I recently tried out the “Magic Gel Remover New Upgrade Acetone-Free 15ml” from Born Pretty and wanted to share my thoughts with you all. This product’s been hyped up online as some kind of “miracle gel polish remover without acetone,” so I was curious and ordered a bottle to test it out. Here’s my detailed take on it—hope it helps anyone who’s on the fence!

How I Used It:

Following the instructions on the Born Pretty site, I did this: lightly buffed the top coat of my gel polish (I was using a different brand’s gel, not Born Pretty’s), then applied a layer of the Magic Gel Remover on my nails and waited about 3-5 minutes (I went with 4 minutes to be safe). After that, I used a cuticle pusher to scrape off the gel. They claim you don’t need foil or acetone soaking, which sounded pretty cool, so I gave it a go.

Results:

Honestly, I was pretty impressed! After about 4 minutes, the gel started wrinkling and peeling off in small patches—not fully “self-peeling” like some promo videos show, but it was definitely way easier to scrape off compared to the traditional acetone soak. It took me another few minutes to clean up all 10 nails, so about 15 minutes total for the whole process. Compared to soaking in acetone for 20-30 minutes and then scraping, it’s noticeably faster. The smell is also much milder than acetone— not overwhelming. Suitable for a variety of Nails.

Cons:

Not that magical: Don’t expect the gel to just fall off without any effort—it still takes some scraping, especially with thicker gels or builder gel.
Buffing is key: If you don’t buff the top coat enough, it doesn’t penetrate as well and takes longer.
Mystery ingredients: It says “acetone-free” on the bottle but doesn’t list the full ingredients, which makes me a bit wary about what’s in it. If you’re sensitive, maybe test it on one nail first.

Overall Thoughts:

I think it’s a decent product—worth a try if you’re curious about something new or can’t stand acetone. It’s not 100% “magic” like the name suggests—you still need some patience and the right technique. My nails didn’t feel weak or overly dry afterward, though I still slapped on some cuticle oil just in case. I’d feel more confident using it long-term if Born Pretty shared more about what’s in it.
